Pattern imprinted concrete is concrete that is poured onto the area that has already been prepared and is then stamped and patterned embossed. In most cases concrete imprinting is made to look like and give the impression of ordinary building products. Whether it be flagstone, brick, natural stone, cobblestone or block paving. Concrete paving is commonly used for patios, drives, pool decking and also garden pathways. The ability of the surface to resemble other building materials makes it a less expensive and therefore cheaper alternative to using other materials such as tarmac and blocks paving.

There are three procedures used in installing patterned imprinted concrete which separate it from other concrete procedures; the addition of an initial base colour, the addition of a secondary colour providing tonal effects, and imprinting a patterns into the surface of the concrete using special 'mat' which have the pattern on them. The pattern reflects the shape of the natural building material that you have chosen and decided to have. The pattern is made by imprinting the concrete shortly after it has been poured with concrete printing mats which are placed on the concrete after the colour release (secondary colour) has been applied. The concrete stamps are pushed into the concrete and then removed to leave the pattern in the pattern imprinted concrete.
